Well Woman HealthCheck Program

The Well Woman HealthCheck Program, based out of North Country HealthCare, provides a comprehensive approach to Breast & Cervical Cancer screening to women in Coconino and Navajo Counties. The WWHP provides free mammograms and cervical cancer screenings to qualifying women. Free or low cost breast and cervical cancer diagnostic testing is also available. Also, if a woman is diagnosed with cancer through our program, we can link her to free or reduced-cost treatment services. Program Staff educate and encourage women to be advocates for their own health.
To qualify for the program, women must be between the ages of 40-64, be uninsured, and meet our income guidelines (a family of four can make up to $55,125 annually and qualify).
These women may also qualify:
* Women who are 65 or older without Medicare or they have Medicare part "A" ONLY (Hospitalization).
* Women younger than 40 who present with breast symptoms and /or a High Grade Abnormal Pap (but meet all other requirements), may be referred by their provider on a case by case basis only!
A woman who qualifies may receive on an annual basis:
* A Clinical Breast Exam (performed by one of our Contracted Providers)
* A Mammogram (low dose x-ray that examines the breast)
* A Pelvic Exam (manual palpation of reproductive system)
* A Pap Test (a microscopic examination of cervical cells)
Services are available through North Country HealthCare in Navajo and Coconino Counties. For services in Apache and Mohave County, please see the State website for a list of programs in other areas.
