St. Johns
North Country HealthCare (NCHC) is seeking 1 full time board certified or board eligible physicians to staff our St. Johns, Arizona clinic. St. Johns is located at the doorstep of the White Mountains in eastern Arizona. Work either 100% outpatient or choose to participate in the hospital call group for White Mountain Regional (http://www.wmrmc.com/) in Round Valley, AZ. If not participating in the hospital call group phone call is 1 in 12 weeks. No OB. Providers work Monday through Friday (4 days) 4 X 10 hour shifts. Part time is possible as well. During a 10 hour shift providers are expected to see 22-25 patients. NCHC payer mix is mainly Medicaid, Medicare and sliding scale fee patients in additions we also see about 15% commercial insurance. Clinic is currently staffed with 1 FP DO and 1 FNP. ALL North Country HealthCare clinics are loan repayment qualified! St. Johns has a HPSA score of 12 which is an excellent qualifying score for loan repayment.

POSITION SUMMARY

 

Physician provides medical services in the general care and treatment of patients in both practice and hospital settings. Provides comprehensive medical services for patients on a continuing basis. Examines patients, using medical instruments and equipment. Elicits and records information about patients' medical history. Orders or executes various tests to provide information on patient's condition. Analyzes reports and findings of tests and examination, and diagnoses condition of patient. Administers or prescribes treatments and medications. Promotes health by advising patients concerning diet, hygiene, and methods of prevention of disease. Inoculates and vaccinates patients to immunize patients from communicable diseases. Performs surgical procedures commensurate with surgical competency. Refers patients to specialist for consultant services when necessary for the patient's well being. Physician works collaboratively and cooperatively with peer providers, and within the organization.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Provides care to patients and assigns appropriate aspects of care to non-physician staff. Based on diagnosis and evaluation of the patient, plans and carries out plan for treatment/therapy, informing and educating the patient, making referrals for specialized treatment and following up on progress.

 

Fulfills all requirements as detailed in the Employment Contract.

 

Completes all charts and dictation (if applicable) on the day of visit assuring completeness and accuracy. Each chart will contain; problem list (by third visit), medication list, and progress notes following a problem oriented format.

 

Is responsible for comprehensive and accurate coding of each patient encounter submitted the day of encounter.

 

Schedules thirty-five hours per week of office patient contact hours unless otherwise approved by Chief Medical Officer.

 

Provides weekly hospital call coverage, night call, weekend coverage and Saturday clinical coverage on a rotational basis unless otherwise approved by Chief Medical Officer.

 

Maintains active privileges at Flagstaff Medical Center and participates in Hospital medical staff activities.

 

Participates in utilization and quality activities within practice setting as well as in activities affecting the ambulatory care network as a whole. Follows organization policies and procedures and protocols.

 

Represents the organization in the local and broader community, participating in educational and other medically oriented programs for the public and patients.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education: Medical License in the State of Arizona

                 Board Certified or Board Eligible with commitment
